BY AIR: Indigo, Jet Airways, Go Air, and Spice Jet offer direct flights from Amritsar to Leh, with a minimum travel time of three hours. Some flights may include a layover in New Delhi.
BY TRAIN: From Amritsar, take the Swaraj Express four days a week or the Vivek Express on Fridays to Jammu Tawi Railway Station, which takes about 27 hours. From Jammu, you can take a taxi to complete the remaining distance.
BY ROAD: Amritsar does not have a direct bus route to Ladakh. Take a bus from Amritsar to Delhi’s ISBT Kashmiri Gate, then another bus to Jammu Bus Stand, covering about 2,000 kilometers in 35 hours. There are multiple forms of transportation available from Jammu to Kashmir, including local shared taxis, bus services, private taxis, and Volvo buses that depart from the Jammu Bus Stand. Private and shared taxis are available all day from the railway station, Jammu region Bus Stand, and Gumat Chowk exits. The journey from Jammu to Kashmir takes eight to ten hours and covers about 300 kilometers.
