BY TRAIN:Alternatively, you could take the train. Swaraj Express and Vivek Express are two trains departing from Surat. Swaraj Express operates four days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday), while Vivek Express only operates on Fridays. The train arrives at Jammu Tawi Railway Station after covering approximately 1480 kilometers in 27 hours. Taxis are available in Jammu for further transportation.
BY ROAD: To travel to Jammu and Kashmir from Surat, take a bus to Delhi ISBT and then another to Jammu Bus Stand (600 km, 11 hours). Begin your 300-kilometer journey to Kashmir in Jammu by taking a local sharing cab, bus, or taxi. Night bus services are available, and you can choose between Volvo and local buses. Taxis and shared cabs are available throughout the day near the Railway Station, Jammu Bus Stand, and Gumat Chowk. The total travel time to Kashmir is approximately 8 to 10 hours.
